Perceived Impact of the National Health Insurance Schemes (NHIS) Among Registered Staff in Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Kogi State Nigeria

Abstract


The paper focuses on the perceived impact of the National Insurance Scheme on registered workers in Federal Polytechnic Idah. Utilising primary and secondary data the study discovered that although the scheme is ineffective it should not be scrapped because in the long run if properly managed its benefits will be tremendous on the workforce. Health security and insurance is an important measure of enhancing productivity in both private and public organizations. A healthy workforce makes a productive workforce.
