The TRIPS Agreement Does Little to Promote the Development of Technology Transfer to Developing Countries
Abstract
This essay shows surely that the importance of technology for the global development and the object of the TRIPS Agreement is to promote the development of technology transfer. Then it shows the conflict between Developed Countries and Developing Countries through analysing the used situation of the TRIPS Agreement. After that, the essay draws the conclusion that this Agreement is unfair; it has brought benefits to Developed Country Members by obstructing the development of Developing Country Members. Finally, the essay analysis provisions of agreement, the result is made that the TRIPS Agreement does not promote the development of technology transfer to Less Developed Countries. It has discouraged the development of Developing Countries in most situations recently. It is not in accordance with the object of the agreement, so the TRIPS Agreement should be amended as soon as possible.
