Generation Harmony and China’s Filial Piety Culture: a Sociological Thinking on Establishing the“Regardless of Ages, Everyone Has a Share”Society

Abstract


Loyalty, filial piety, integrity, righteousness, benevolence, wisdom, courtesy and faith are essential categories in Chinese traditional ethic thoughts. The beginning, conformation, development and variation of them experienced a long history. Filial peity plays a predominant part in China’s senior-respect and senior-nursing tradition, which also becomes strong basis for generation harmony and stability and continuation of a Chinese family. The origin of filial piety culture has a history of long standing. Making proper review of its influence on modern society has positive practical meanings. In order to establish a “Regardless of ages, everybody has a share”society, references could be borrowed from filial piety to realize its practical value. Based on dialectical materialism and historical materialism, this article analyzes the evolvement of filial piety culture and advances the suggestion that generation harmony be maintained and filial piety culture be continued in modern society.

Résumé La fidélité、la piété filiale、la tempérance、la justice、la bienveillance、la sagesse、 le rite、la bonne foi sont des idées importantes de la pensée morale traditionnelle de la Chine. Leur appartition, formation, développement et transformation ont connu une assez longue période. La notion de piété filiale a joué un rôle important sur la tradition chinoise consistant à subvenir aux besoins des parents et les respecter, jetant ainsi une base solide pour l’harmonie des générations ainsi que la stabilité et la perpétuation de la famille. La culture de piété fialiale a une longue histoire, envisager correctement l’influence de la piété filiale sur notre sociéte d’aujoudhui a une grande importance actuelle. Cela a notamment une grande valeur inspirante et réele pour l’établissement d’une société de ‘‘partage sans distinction d’âge’’. Dans cet article, l’auteur analyse l’évolution de la culture de piété filiale par le moyen de matérialismes dialectique et historique et propose ainsi des points de vue et conseils sur le maintien de l’harmonie des gégérations et l’héritage de la culture de piété filiale dans la société moderne.

摘 要 忠、孝、節、義、仁、智、禮、信等是中國傳統倫理思想中的重要範疇,其產生、形成、發展和變異經歷了相當長的歷史過程。其中“孝”對中國傳統的養老尊老起到了舉足輕重的作用。從而為代際和諧和家庭的穩定與傳承奠定了堅實的基礎。孝文化的形成源遠流長,正確審視“孝”對我們今天社會的影響,是有著積極的現實意義。特別是對建立“不分年齡、人人共用”的社會具有深刻的借鑒和實際價值。本文運用辨證唯物主義和歷史唯物主義的觀點對孝道文化的演進進行了分析並提出了在現代社會保持代際和諧傳承 孝道文化的觀點和建議。
