The main problematic addressed in the article is as follows: When the economic crises were first examined, the effects created in the short term were observed by characterizing them from introversion and military engagements. In this context, it has been examined from the realist point of view of an economic and military power correlation that retains its superiority despite the impact of the economic crisis. When this situation is considered, it is an attitude that diverges its own negative interests from the approach of protectionism through interventionism. Why does hegemon power not want to use it, while it has the power to reveal its superiority by using military methods or in other words brute force? In order to find the answer to this question, it is important to first investigate which features of hegemony, and especially American Hegemony, activate and how it can use protectionism together with interventionism. According to Cox, consent in hegemony comes before coercion. In hegemonic relationships, similarities were observed between the negative feelings or interests of the power owner and those of other world states. Hegemon utilizes the ability to use the persuasion element to maintain its superiority, consolidate its leadership position and ultimately protect its own interests. In this case, it is possible for other actors in the hegemonic system to influence the system by using slightly less economic and military resources. Because the effects of hegemon power are mentioned by making use of the basic harmony of hegemonic common values and interests.
In summary, it appears as a key concept to understand the functioning and change of the phenomenon of socialization in the hegemonic system in hegemonic structures. The ability to persuade legitimacy or to ensure the acceptance of a certain economic international order, in other words, the capacity to form consensus policies on the normative foundations of the system concentrated among other national elites, is the most important and perhaps the most vital aspect of hegemonic power.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13247An I Ching Paradigm for Individuation: A Comparison Between the Third Hexagram and the Hero’s Journey as Applied to the Birth of Consciousness2024-03-19T18:20:29+00:00Lanqi LIANGliang.lanqi@hotmail.com
Individuation delineates personal growth towards achieving one’s full potential in Jungian psychology. A three-stage path for individuation is found in myths. This process corresponds to the teachings from the third and fourth hexagrams in I Ching. The third and fourth hexagrams in I Ching combined lay out three factors for successful personal growth: the desire to grow, perseverance, and willingness to share. An action plan can be deduced from I Ching for those aiming to assist people in their individuation processes.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/11928A Study on the Justice Treatment of Delinquent Juvenile From a Child-Friendly Perspective2024-03-19T18:20:29+00:00Bo LI289089031@qq.comYin YU289089031@qq.comLiuyi PAN289089031@qq.comAnyi HU289089031@qq.com
The delinquent juvenile refers to the juvenile who has been involved in crime or has bad behavior, serious bad behavior. Nengerjanenger@binghamton.eduNancy U. OdimegwuHer203631n@health.wa.gov.auCasmir N. Nwankwocasmirnwankwo@madonnauniversity.edu.ng
Climate change casts a long shadow on Nigeria’s Sahel region, driving environmental degradation, disrupting livelihoods, and displacing communities. The consequences are grave leaving the most vulnerable in the society square up against human rights abuses in their search to escape their environmental misfortune. Given this happenstance, this narrative review explores the human rights dimensions of climate change-induced migration in Nigeria’s Sahel region. Anchored by Environmental migration theory, Human rights-based approach, Intersectionality theory, and Governance and policy theory, it investigates the drivers, impacts, and potential solutions to this complex issue. The review sought to identify the environmental drivers and patterns of climate-induced migration in the Sahel, to analyze the impacts of climate change on livelihoods, food security, and human rights in the region, to investigate the specific human rights concerns faced by climate-induced migrants, considering diverse vulnerabilities, and to propose potential solutions and best practices to mitigate the human rights costs of climate-induced migration. The findings revealed that environmental factors like droughts, desertification, and erratic rainfall patterns act as potent “push” factors, forcing communities to migrate and hence can be regarded as drivers. Climate change severely impacts livelihoods and food security, raising critical human rights concerns regarding food, water, health, and education, particularly among vulnerable groups. The review further found that for solutions, a comprehensive approach is needed, encompassing mitigation and adaptation efforts, strengthening legal frameworks for climate migrants, providing humanitarian aid, and investing in sustainable development initiatives. To reduce the problems and challenges faced by Nigerians living in the Sahel caused by climate changes in the area, it is recommended that collaboration and policy action among stakeholders is improved to address root causes and protect human rights and to prioritize equity and inclusion in all solutions and interventions.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13327The High-Quality Development of Commercial Health Insurance: Measurement and Discussion Based on 2011-2020 China’s Provincial Panel Data2024-03-19T18:20:30+00:00Yan ZHANGchang.agatha@yahoo.comJingtong LÜchang.agatha@yahoo.com
Objective: The objective of this study is to assess the high-quality development of commercial health insurance in mainland China, and discuss its effectiveness and efficiency in the sense of coordination with economic development. More specifically, the objective is threefold: (1) to construct an all-round assessment matrix with a compound index to measure the high-quality development of commercial health insurance; (2) to track the dynamic evolution of regional commercial health insurance development, as well as the regional disparities; (3) to measure the coupling coordinated development level between regional commercial health insurance and regional economics.
Methods: The study was supported by the 2011-2020 provincial panel data from China Statistical Yearbook、China City Statistical Yearbook、Yearbook of China’s Insurance、Almanac of China’s Finance and Banking、China Population and Employment Statistics Yearbook、China’s environmental Yearbook. The analytic hierarchy process - entropy weight method was applied to analyze high-quality development of commercial health insurance and high-quality economic development. For study on regional disparities, the Theil index was used for the analysis. The coupling coordination degree model was constructed to measure the coupling coordinated development level.
Results: (i) There were around one third regions that had achieved superior commercial health insurance development and coupling coordination between commercial health insurance and economics than national average, and most of them were in the east/coastal area. (ii) The overall improvement of coordination relationship was significantly inferior to that of commercial health insurance development, which reflects the difficulty of achieving coupling coordinated development between commercial health insurance and economics. (iii) The nationwide population-weighted Theil index decreased by around 50% over the past decade, which indicates that regional disparity has been reduced remarkably. The decomposition results indicate that the total Theil was dominated by the intra-regional difference and thus it can explain a significant portion of the overall inequality. (iv) The nationwide coupling coordination degree was quite stable before 2016, and got improved rapidly since 2017. Most regions had a low coupling coordinated development level in 2011 and 15 of them finally reached medium- or high- level in 2019. (v) The COVID-19 pandemic had obvious adverse impact on commercial health insurance development and coordination relationship between commercial health insurance and economics.
Conclusion: The existing assessment is limited in that it emphasizes partially the regional disparities in an absolute sense. In contrast, the all-round assessment matrix and the coordination analysis in our study can provide decision makers with reliable measurement. It is necessary to continuously monitoring the high-quality commercial health insurance development index and the coupling coordination degree. As such, the appropriate health insurance industry policy could be developed accordingly. As the most important supplements to social security system, commercial health insurance and commercial pension scheme should serve local economic society development, effectively and efficiently.

2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13296Two Decades of Nigeria’s Nascent Democracy: An Assessment2024-03-19T18:20:30+00:00Emmanuel O. This paper takes a cursory look at the performance of democracy in the last two decades to determine whether it is moving towards sustenance and consolidation. A number of barometers were considered which are critical to well-known canons of democracy. The paper however infers that governing elites need to do more if the masses of the people will be a catalyst to democratic sustenance and consolidation as the performance of democracy vis-à-vis development in all ramifications is nothing to write home about for now in the country.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13292A Comparative Study of Social Media’s Religiopolitical Use by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)2024-03-19T18:20:30+00:00Muhammad Akramakramuhammad1@gmail.comAdeela Arshad-Ayazakramuhammad1@gmail.comMuhammad Ayaz Naseemakramuhammad1@gmail.com
The political abuse of social media platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) has further complicated the religiopolitical dynamics in Pakistan. This study intends to understand the use of Facebook and X in the political journey of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), a mainstream political party, and Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), a religiopolitical party. A comparative literature review was conducted to critically analyze the peer-reviewed literature to identify the ways PTI and TLP have used Facebook and X to establish and nurture their political ideologies, particularly among youth. The findings of the content analysis revealed that both parties significantly benefitted from Facebook and X to project their political agenda, instill religion (Islam) in their political campaigns, and organize massive (violent) protests. The paper also provides contextual knowledge on social media platforms like Facebook and X being used in religiopolitical discourses and influencing the political attitude of netizens, particularly youth. This study argues that social media has shifted Pakistan’s political dynamics such as electioneering, voter campaigns, and sustaining political control, which has caused increased religiopolitical radicalism among youth.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13282Sports Diplomacy and Conflict Management: A Study of Russia-Ukrainian War2024-03-19T18:20:30+00:00Celestina Ekene Chukwudicelestina.chukwudi@covenantuniversity.edu.ngPaul Chibuike Ezebuilocelestina.chukwudi@covenantuniversity.edu.ngIkenna Michael Nwabueze-Orucelestina.chukwudi@covenantuniversity.edu.ng
Conflicts of different natures have continued to disturb peacebuilding around the world. Many individuals have encountered situations where they regretted their initial self-presentation efforts, leading to actions such as untagging, unfriending, or discontinuing their use of social media platforms. While prior research has explored the links between privacy concerns and regretted self-presentation on social media, a significant gap remains in our understanding of the concept of “context collapse” and the various ways regret can manifest in the online context. This study investigates the influence of context collapse on Instagram, specifically focusing on network size as a predictor of regretted self-presentation. Additionally, we explored the role of privacy concerns as potential mediators in these relationships. To gather data, we conducted an online survey involving 300 Instagram users who were undergraduate students, representing both private and public universities within the Klang area. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics V.27. Our findings indicate that a larger network on Instagram positively predicts regretted self-presentation, with privacy concerns mediating this association. The outcomes of this research have significant implications, providing valuable insights for educational practitioners to design intervention programs aimed at reducing regret among SNS users. Additionally, it offers crucial insights for both SNS users and developers, shedding light on the intricate interplay between regret, context collapse, and privacy concern. Ultimately, this study furnishes empirical evidence concerning users’ regretted self-presentation on Instagram, highlighting the impact of SNS metrics and users’ cognitive factors on these regrettable instances.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13295Inheritance and Innovation of Guizhou Arts and Crafts in Modern Tourism Products: A Case Study of Miao Silver Ornaments in Southeast Guizhou2024-03-19T18:20:31+00:00Jingjing XIAlishirun@126.com
This paper takes the Miao silver ornaments, a part of the intangible cultural heritage of the Miao ethnic group in Southeast Guizhou, China, as an example to explore the survival mode and development environment of Miao silver ornaments in contemporary 21st-century tourism cultural products. But due to a number of factors, these programs seem to have failed to realize its aims in Nigeria, and the need to encourage the programs to work is sacrosanct. It is based this that this study is undertaken. The study examined the impact of agricultural development programs on farmers’ productivity in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. Specifically, it explore how policies and progrmmes packed can enhance small scale farmer’s production and the capacity to alleviate rural poverty, and promote socio-economic development. The study has its method rooted in quantitative approach using close ended questionnaire. Simple random sampling technique was used to select study participants for the study. Data obtained were analyzed descriptively on percentage tables using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings of the study shows among others that; effect of government policy and decision on farmers were not given due recognition in decision making, though representatives of the farmers were adequately represented in decision making but yet do not have access to information on agricultural programmes which has impeded the farmers productivity in the study area. Based on these findings, the study recommends among others that; governments should make a new and expanded policy agenda for agricultural extension and communication for the local farmers, the governments will need to provide a national policy agenda on food security and income generation of the rural poor.
2024-02-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Canadian Social Sciencehttp://cscanada.net/index.php/css/article/view/13344Mentorship in Translation Education for the Electric Power Field: Bridging the Gap Between Individual Skills and Project Management2024-03-19T18:30:10+00:00Bin LIUliubin909@gmail.com
The evaluation and assessment of student interpreters have long been an issue for interpreting programs. The balance between student practice throughput, the time and human cost of assessment, and the quality of feedback is notoriously difficult to achieve. Here we demonstrate a way to rapidly assess student Chinese-to-English interpreting performance using automatic speech recognition and grammar correction software. The assessment results are compared with human graders against a set of criteria for grammar, fidelity, register, and enunciation. The results show that the semiautomatic assessment process is less time-consuming, and can give adequate feedback for enunciation, grammar, and register.
